Display space overview page to the page tree
Hello, is there a way to display a space's overview page (or document root page) at the top of the page tree in our viewport site?
If not, as this is something that we need, is there a way to create a page that would redirect to the space overview page when clicked?
(currently using Confluence Cloud + Scroll Viewport Cloud + Scroll Documents Cloud)
Thank you

Hi Stavroula,
Thanks for your question!
When you access a Viewport page under a path like yourname.scrollhelp.site/space-name/, what you're accessing is in fact Viewport's representation of your space overview page or document root page.
With the layout type 'Hero Layout' or 'Detail Layout' you will only see a bit of the content that is on that overview or root page. However, if you set the layout type to 'article' (Under Edit theme -> Templates -> Content Source -> Layout Type) you'll get to see everything you have on that page. If you try it out, let us know what you think!
Otherwise, anything that should show in your page tree on the very top would need to be either the first page in your space's page tree or the first child page under the document root page (if you are working with a document content source). In that case, moving your content from the space overview page or document root page to such a sub-page might help.
Please let us know if you have further questions!
Cheers,
Laura

Hello Laura, thank you for the reply.
I am actually already using the Article layout.
Even if I move that content to a sub-page, the overview page will still be there but it will simply be a blank page, right? What I'm wondering is if there is a way to actually show the overview or document root page at the top of the page tree as well
I got some feedback from our customers that it's not very intuitive for them to click on the space title and it would actually help them if they could just click at the top of the page tree.
Thank you for your time,
Stavroula

Hi Stavroula,
Thanks for clarifying. If you're using the article layout, I don't recommend moving your content to the first sub-page in your document, as it will already show in full detail.
In any layout type, the document root page is your site's home page (if you have just one content source) or your content source home page (if you have multiple content sources) and therefore not part of the page tree. I agree with you that in the case of the article layout it's not that clear how the home page relates to the rest of the content.
I will discuss this with the team to see if we can improve the article layout in that regard (changes to the breadcrumb or any additional links or hints in the page tree).
Please also feel free to reach out to lparraga@k15t.com if you'd like to discuss your particular case in a call or if you like to send me a screenshot/link of your current site. That could help us address the problem with a specific example on hand.
Cheers,
Laura
