No longer possible to create anchor links to master pages?
Hi there!
Since our recent update to Confluence 7.13.2 and Scroll Versions 4.1.3, we no longer seem to be able to create links to anchors or subheadings of master pages (by using the 'Browse' button to define the master page and THEN defining the anchor in the 'Advanced' menu - as we used to do it before the update).
As we publish every version of our documentation spaces to a separate new space, we already need to post-edit links due to the changed space keys. But repairing all new anchor links that now contain unwanted version information is not really an option for the future.
Is there a known reason for the changed behaviour? Or any kind of workaround we could use to still link to a master page (AND contained anchor)?
Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.
Cheers,
Silvia

Hi Silvia,
It sounds like you could be affected by the following issue: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/VSN-4515
This issue was fixed and released with version 4.2.0. Try updating to Scroll Versions 4.2.0 and see if the behaviour still occurs.
We also have a Rest API resource which you could use as an attempt to fix the links. The resource should process all links in the space, and change so the links which points to a specific version instead points to the master page. However, please try this out in a test environment first or create a space backup, in case something unexpected would occur. You can find the resource here: Repair Change Page Links
In this following article you can also find our recommendations for how to work with anchor links in a versioned space: Link to pages in a versioned space
If the problem still remains after the app update, then don't hesitate to reach out to our app support via help@K15t.com.
Cheers,
Johanna (K15t). -
Hi Silvia,
I hope the update helps.
Also, while sending my first reply I forgot to mention the following knowledge base article: Repair Links to Change Pages
If you have broken links which are pointing to change pages instead of their master pages, then you can use this article as a reference when you want to fix those links.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Johanna (K15t).
