Automatically generate PDFs when content is updated?
Hi Everyone! I have just installed PDF Export for our public-facing documentation and it seems perfect for us!
The question I have, and I saw some similar questions from years ago but nothing recent, is I want to auto-generate a PDF ahead of time as an admin so that users don’t have to wait for the PDF to be generated.
We are planning to use Scroll Viewport too, so it would be great if, for example, the update site process could also generate the full PDF and then upload it to the site so users can immediately download it.
Obviously I can do this as a manual process, but it would add several steps to the site workflow for me to generate it, wait, download the PDF, upload it to confluence, etc. So I just want to know if there’s an easy way to trigger or automate this?
Thanks!
Brian

Hi Brian - thanks for the post. Were you using Scroll PDF Exporter for Server or Cloud? If it is the former you can automate exports using the REST API - you can read more about this here.
If it is the latter and you're using Confluence Cloud, currently we don't offer a REST API but this is something we hope to have available towards the end of this quarter/beginning of next quarter. You can follow the feature request here.
