Exact phrase search
Hello,
I am using Scroll Viewport Cloud with content from Confluence Cloud.
Is there a way to search for an exact phrase and get a match?
Also, how are the search results ordered?
For example, when searching in your documentation for the phrase "navigation and search", you get the below results:
There are multiple pages, and many results that don't contain any of the words.
We have hundreds of pages with similar wording in our docs, and we need an exact search match, shown at the top results.
I have tried using quotes, asterisks, hyphens, and other search methods that work in Confluence, but not in the Viewport site.
Is there something that can be done?
Thank you,
Stavroula

Hello Stavroula,
thanks for reaching out to us.
At the moment Scroll Viewport for Cloud does not support any advanced search syntax options. E.g. using * to search for an exact phrase. But we are aware of this issue and are currently working on an improvement. Please sign up at https://k15t.jira.com/ to watch, comment on or vote for this issue. We'll then send a notification for every status update.
In general, is the Viewport search is built on AWS elastic search. The search only indexes all pages that are part of your viewport content sources (not all pages/spaces you have in Confluence). Results show the specific context of the search result: where it lives, the page title, as well as a snippet from the page including the search term(s).
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
Best regards,
