Alternative to Scroll versions when moving to Confluence Cloud
Hi,
We are currently using confluence server with scroll viewport, versions and translations. Used for our user documentation on our website.
At the moment we are considering moving over to confluence cloud and I found out that both versions and translations are not available for confluence cloud. How to others solve this issue to keep versions and translations in Cloud?

Hi Joanne,
thank you for asking.
In the spirit of being fair and frank, Scroll Versions is not going to be implemented on Cloud. Due to the technical architecture of Confluence Cloud, it’s not possible to reimplement Scroll Versions in its current form. Instead, we are working on making Scroll Documents our versioning solution for Cloud. Scroll Documents is already available on Cloud, and has an inbuilt versioning feature which you can try out already. Also, if you are using Scroll Translations. While we don’t have a solution in place today, we’re thinking about how we can bring similar functionality to Confluence Cloud as well.
If you have more use case specific questions, please feel free to open a support request by emailing to help@k15t.com

Hi Johanna,
Will it be possible to migrate existing content which is versioned with Scroll versions to the Cloud using the updated Scroll documents without losing content and versions?
Will it be possible to integrate the versions of the pages/documents in Scroll Viewport as currently done in the server version?
And hopefully the same will apply to translations when part of Scroll Documents.

Hi Laura,
To answer your first question. A goal for us is to achieve a migration without any information loss, and the later you migrate this can be achieved with more certainty. As it looks now, you would first need to migrate from Scroll Versions to Scroll Documents on server, and after that migrate Scroll Documents to Cloud. But again, the later you migrate, the more time we have had to make Scroll Documents more powerful to enable the most successful migration.
Regarding Scroll Viewport and Scroll Documents. We are working on a versioning integration between the 2 apps. You will have a version picker which let you switch between multiples version. The best thing I can recommend is to trial Scroll Viewport and Scroll Documents on Cloud when the versioning integration is released. You can follow the Jira issue here via this link: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/VPC-53
When it comes to a translations solution for Cloud, we do not have any answers yet in regards to how or when this will happen. This functionality could be built into an existing Cloud app, but it could also be built as a separate app. We are still working on finding the best and most sustainable solution for this.
I know there is currently a lot of uncertainty in the air, and even though we do not have all the answers yet, we are working hard to provide them. For faster and more frequent updates from us, I recommend subscribing to our newsletter: https://www.k15t.com/#newsletter
I hope this information was of some help for now.

Hi there,
here is a small update for you who are interested in the Cloud migration topic.
We at K15t, recently released the Cloud Migration Hub within our Help center. Within the Cloud Migration Hub, you’ll find an overview of each app’s availability and feature sets across each deployment. You’ll also find the currently available and planned migration paths.
We’ll keep the information in the Cloud Migration Hub up to date as we continue working on our products. You can find the Cloud Migration Hub here via this link: https://help.k15t.com/migrate-to-cloud/Cheers,

Hi, is it still "true" that Versions won't be in Cloud? I was reading about the server-to-cloud migration and saw this statement:
"In addition, we’re actively working on bringing Scroll Versions functionality to Confluence Cloud."Learn About App Compatibility (k15t.com)
Or is the "functionality" still just a part of Scroll Documents?
Thanks!!!!

Hi Kimberly,
thank you for reaching out.
Scroll Versions in its current form will not be released to Cloud. The statement you referred to means that we are currently working on making Scroll Documents the new solution for versioning on Confluence Cloud. Hence, if you are looking for a versioning solution for Cloud I recommend taking a look at Scroll Documents.
I hope this information was of help.
Cheers,
Johanna (K15t)
