    Hi Anthony,

I am not quite sure what the core of your question is. Captions are created by using the Scroll Title macro – for both illustrations and tables. This macro, however, does not support referencing to the caption number that is created when exporting your content as far as I know (unless k15t has come up with a solution in the meanwhile). This issue has been discussed in this thread: https://k15t.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000315143-Reference-captions-from-text-

I think it would be a very helpful feature to be able to reference a specific figure or table using the caption number. I, however, use the anchors as described by Roman in the mentioned thread. It's not elegant but in my case referencing to captions is just one of my minor problems and therefore this approach works for me.

    Regards

    Cordula

    Thanks for the response.

Essentially, what I'm trying to do is to be able export from Confluence and obtain "real" MS Word figure captions. Exactly like when you insert a figure caption in Word itself. These captions can then be cross-referenced from anywhere in the text in the Word document and can be listed in Word Figure List table.

Hi Anthony, as Cordula mentioned, it remains possible to add captions which are respected in your MS Word file export by using the Scroll Title macro. You would simply need to add these to your Confluence page and nest the relevant content (ie. table or figure within the macro). You can then define some caption text within the macro parameters - you can read more about this here. Within your export template you can then configure a Table of Tables/Figures reference which automatically detects and lists these captions from your exported content - you can learn more here. I hope this helps, Thomas.
