    Hello Radovan,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

You can try the following work-around to always link to the last approved version of the document -

    1. View restrict the current version of the document just to yourself, or users who need to work on on it.

    2. View restrict all the older versions of the document.

    3. Use the 'Share' dialog in the document viewer to generate a sharable link to the document.

    4. Embed this link on your confluence pages.

The document viewer is designed in a way that it will fall back to the version that is available for the user who is viewing it. Therefore, if only the latest version is available to a certain user, they will only see that.

Then, next time when you publish a new approved version, simply view restrict the old one.

At this point, if you want to view restrict the any version of the document you need to do the following -

    1. Open the version in the document viewer

    2. From the more menu '...' on the top-right corner, click on 'Open in pages'

    3. Then, apply view restrictions on that page.

Please note:  We are currently working on a new feature that would help you manage restrictions of your document and all its versions from a single ui. This feature will be released in the upcoming weeks.

    I hope that helps.

    Best regards,

    Dash.
