Scroll PDF and Word Exporter are exporting permalink rather than Scroll Title
Putting this in General as I don't know what's causing the problem.
We've been using Scroll PDF Exporter and Word Exporter for several years. We also use the permalink feature of Scroll Versions but we don't use any other features of Scroll Versions (so no versioning), just the ability to have duplicate page titles in a space.
We've just noticed today that our PDF and Word exports are using the permalinks as the topic titles, rather than using the Scroll Titles as we'd expect. This also affects the document title, which is set to be the title of the root page in the export. I'm sure we'd have noticed if it had done that earlier although I couldn't swear to it.
Our permalinks often contain internal references or incremental numbers, they're not for publication in documents for our clients, so this is causing problems.
We're using:
- Confluence Server 6.12.4 (upgraded relatively recently)
- Scroll PDF Exporter 4.8.0
- Scroll Word Exporter 4.1.10
- Scroll Versions 3.13.4
No idea whether the problem lies with Confluence itself, Scroll Versions, the Scroll Export Add-ons, or if I'm missing something obvious, so not quite sure where I should raise a support request, but will do so if someone can suggest which product might be causing it.
Thanks,
Jane

Hi Jane,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
I have tried to reproduce this same behaviour with the latest version of our apps but was unable to reproduce the permalinks being specifically taken in the export. However, recently, we have become aware of there being a change in the filenames due to an update we made and we are tracking this issue here: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/EXP-2831
Could it be that you're also experiencing this issue rather than the permalinks being taken? We will be focusing on this issue in our next sprint and therefore the fix version should be available towards the ends of the month/beginning of next month.
If this is not the case, please can you share your affected space with us via support@k15t.com? To export the content of Confluence pages, please follow these instructions: https://help.k15t.com/creating-a-xml-export-of-a-single-page-111903666.html. We can then try to reproduce this problem.

Hi there,
i am glad to find someone with the same problem. Same symptoms here: The PDF exporter exports the permalink instead of the original page title (root page title but also page titles, that are children of the exported root page). We are using:
- Version Scroll PDF Exporter 5.8.1
Is there any known solution for that?
Greetings

Hi Philipp,
Thanks for the post.
Have you versioned the space (with Scroll Versions) that you're generating the exports from?
To further investigate the behaviour you encountered it would be great if you could send us further details, such as an XML export for the affected Confluence content, to help@k15t.com and we can go over the behaviour within a support ticket.
Cheers,
Thomas (K15t)
