Page numbering issue
Hi everyone,
We are currently evaluating Scroll PDF Exporter and designed the export styles with ease so far.
Yet I've discovered a weird issue which im unsure to get rid of.
In the footer section we implemented to macros with Page X of XX, but since we renumber our pages beginning with content, total page count makes no sense there. It now looks like there are some pages missing at the end of the document (Page 20 of 26) because we renumbered after page 6.
Is there a workaround to get a total page count after renumbered pages? I didnt seem to find any which would accomplish this.
Thanks in advance,
Kind regards,
Marcus Netz

Hi Marcus,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
Was I right in thinking that you had restarted the page numbering on the sixth page, which resulting in the final page of your export stating page 20, but the actual document count stating 26 (because it includes the 6 initial pages)?
If so, this is currently expected and caused due to a technical limitation with the separate total document page count placeholder not recognising the reset of page numbering. This is also mentioned in our documentation here.
Unfortunately, there is not a specific workaround for this behaviour at the moment. Potentially, when we update to a newer version of the library we use to generate the PDF's there may be different functionality to support this, but presently we are unaware of any such feature. My only suggestion as a workaround would be to potentially use the Page Property placeholder in your template – however, this would require manually updating the numbering.
Thanks, Thomas (K15t)
