Can Backbone Issue Sync be used to Synchronize multiple replicated JIRA instances?
Hi,
We have our JIRA instance located in Waterloo , along with its database. Local user experience is good.
However , users at remote sites(like in India,Munich) are experiencing slowness in response. We have confirmed with various tests that it is due to multiple roundtrips per each user operation(due to nature of JIRA).
Hence we are looking at JIRA replication at remote sites i.e. local JIRA instance(application and database) at each site , along with continuous Synchronization between all instances using Sync Tools. We would want our users at all locations to work the same way as they are doing today with single instance, without realizing there are multiple instances(if possible).
We would want instance to instance synchronization i.e. we want all the segments of JIRA (like Projects , Workflows , Dashboards , Filters , Versions , Components , Users , Issue Types , Plugins , Custom labels , Custom Fields etc.) to be synced. Can you application help us acheive this? Have you come across of similar scenario where your customers leveraged your product?
Also , please let me know if you need anything more.

Hi Suchitra,
Thanks for reaching out and your interest in Backbone Issue Sync for JIRA.
With Backbone you can synchronize JIRA issues and fields across different instances, however it's not possible to sync complete project configurations.
For syncing your configurations we recommend to use the Configuration Manager for JIRA by Botron Software: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.botronsoft.jira.configurationmanager/server/overview
Once you've copied all your project settings, you can then use Backbone Issue Sync for JIRA to synchronize your issues and fields from your Waterloo instance to another local instance. So with a combination of those two add-ons your requirements can be met.
I hope that information helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions. As already mentioned in the support request you opened, we can also set up a web session to discuss your requirements a bit more in detail. Let's discuss further steps in the private support request.
Best,
Nils
