How do you edit an "unversioned" page in v3 without creating a version of the page?

    Hi Felicity,

we're restructuring our documentation, and hope to have the new version available soon.

To create a unversioned page in Scroll Versions 3.0, please click on the version in edit mode and click "convert":

The version name in the top-right corner will then say "unversioned" and the page will be created as unversioned and will be visible in all versions.

The page will stay unversioned until you manually decide to convert it to a versioned page again.

    Does that help?

    Best,Nils

Thanks for your reply. It's great to know that updated documentation is on its way :-)

This doesn't really answer my problem.

I have an unversioned page already. I want to make changes to it. When I click the Edit button, it is automatically converted into a versioned page and a new page is created for the Version Picker setting.

Previously, I would select "Currently Published" from the Working Version picker and click Edit. The page could then be edited without converting it into a versioned page.

Sorry - I replied too quickly.

I've just run through your actions. I can see that this workaround does what I'm looking for. But it is a very confusing way to do things. The URL continues to indicate that you're going to create a new page and there's no option to use the Confluence Source Editor or add a comment to the page revision.

After editing the page once like this and clicking Save, it seems to "remember" that the page is unversioned the next time you edit the page. Everything then works as I would expect it to.

What happens if another user now edits the page, will it remember that the page should be unversioned for them too?

    Hi Felicity,

    Thanks for the feedback.

We decided to implement the unversioned page feature like this, as we didn't want it to be too obvious to create unversioned pages (as we want users to work with versioned pages, and create unversioned pages only in exceptional cases).

Once you decide to make a page unversioned, it will also stay unversioned for other authors, yes (unless you, or any other author decides to version the page again).

    Best,
    Nils
