Links stop working if a page is changed in the next version
Hi,
Let me describe my problem here as I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if this is how Scroll Version functions.
- Let's say I have two pages: Home-v1 and Configuration-v1.
- In the Home page I have a link to the Configuration page.
- Now I create version 2 of my documentation and I make changes to Configuration page, so now I have Configuration-v2.
- When I publish I see that a link from Home to Configuration stops working.
What I need to do now is go and edit Home and link the Configuration page again. I am a little but confused as I thought the links should be maintained properly.
Am I doing something wrong or is this the way it should work?
thanks,
Sabina

Hi Sabina,
thanks for contacting us.
Have you already had a look at the following page in our documentation: https://www.k15t.com/display/VSN/Linking+to+Pages+in+a+Scroll+Versions+space ?
Please make sure to use the "browse" functionality when inserting links in spaces managed with Scroll Versions, by doing so the links will be resolved correctly within the version and will work after publish.
I hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Best,
Nils -
Hi Sabina,
linking to anchors on versioned pages isn't fully supported yet.
We've already tracked the requirement in our JIRA system: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/VSN-2080

Hi, I would like to make one more comment that I think is connected with the whole linking issue. When I publish new versions I keep getting loads of messages that go like this: "Page **** contains a link to a page.***v1 that cannot be published."
When I verify the links, it turns out they are created through a Browse linking option (not advanced or anything else). Also, if I publish anyway, without fixing any of these links. then all those links work correctly... Problem is every time I publish I get more and more of these messages even though there don't seem to be any problems. I dont get it, what am I doing wrong?

Just to make myself more clear, these are not regular blue 'messages' that I am talking about, these are in fact listed as 'warnings' which makes it even more confusing for me.

Hi Sabina,
Could you please send the export of your space to support@k15t.com so we could have a deeper look at the issue?
Cheers,
Roman.
