    Hi Tom,

    thanks for contacting us.

Currently Scroll Versions doesn't support to assign variants to existing Confluence groups and it is also not planned for future releases. Maybe you can try to implement a very simple plugin which automatically sets the variant selector according to the groups of the current user by using JavaScript.

Another possibility would be to work in a "private master space" (see http://www.k15t.com/display/VSN/Public+vs.+Private+Master+Space) and publish each variant to a single space.

I hope that information helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions, I'll be happy to help.

    Cheers,
    Nils

Thanks. I'm not sure why there aren't plans to tie variants to user access groups. Wouldn't that be a result that would be ideal? Any reason I'm missing why this functionality isn't on a roadmap of any kind?

    Hi Tom,

I spoke to our developers about the wanted requirement and created an improvement in our JIRA system: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/VSN-1732
Please sign up at https://k15t.jira.com/secure/Signup!default.jspa to watch, to comment or to vote for this issue. The more votes an issue has, the more likely it is that it will implemented in one of the next releases.

Besides we'll keep working on implementing Scroll Viewport in Scroll Versions and Scroll Translations. So using a special viewport to control the permissions might be another option to control the permissions in the future.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,Nils
