Does Publishing to the new space remove deleted pages?

    Hi Robert,

if you'll delete a page and all its versions, the page is still displayed in the existing space, until you delete it manually.

If you'll only delete the page in a certain version and re-publish the version to the existing space, the page will also be deleted in the target space.

Not sure I understand. In space after space, we remove the topic from the space with SV, then republish to an existing space without SV where those topics existed. SV does not remove the topics from the target space.

    Hi Bob,

as discussed in our call last week, I've just double-checked the remove functionality.

When removing a page in your master space (the space SV is activated in), you have to make sure to delete the page only in a certain version.

    To do so

    1. Select the corresponding version in the Working Version drop-down.

    2. Click Tools > Delete and click Remove

The page is now scheduled as removed in the wanted version and the corresponding page in the target space (the one you publish to), will be removed after you publish the version for the next time.

The removal of a page does not affect the target space, if you remove a page and all its versions (see screenshot). We'll not change this behavior, as it can't be implemented properly without risking to delete unwanted pages.

If you want to remove a page and all its versions in your target space:

    1. Delete the page in a certain version

    2. Publish this version to the target space

    3. Remove the page and all its versions in the master space

    4. Re-publish the version.

I hope that information helps. Please feel free to ask, if you have any further questions regarding this process.
