    Hi Gina,

I have create a category for Scroll Translations and moved this discussion there.

    1. It's not currently possible to assign variants in bulk. We have an improvement in our JIRA for this: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/VSN-1709.
    2. It's also not possible to exclude specific variants from Translation XML. We are tracking an improvement to select specific pages here: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/VSN-1677.

    Cheers,
    Roman.

    Hi Roman,

It's still very frustrating and extremely time consuming because I have to apply a variant to every single page in a branch when I just want to export the branch, or a few branches. I started reporting this over 4 years ago. I don't understand why we don't have the feature for exporting xlfs like we did with html:  In an export feature, list the branches/pages and allow us to click a checkbox for each to export the ones we want to export.

Is there any news on this feature request?

    Thanks,

    Gina

    Hi Gina,

there are no news regarding this specific request. Unfortunately, this isn't an issue that is highly requested and thus other issues were prioritized over it in the past.

A couple points about exporting XLIFFs and existing filtering methods. Sorry if you're already aware of all of them:

    • Pages to be exported can be directly filtered by their translation status.
    • Using the One file per page export setting enables you to delete pages that are not supposed to be translated within the zip
    • Translation ignore macro enables you to permanently mark inline terms or paragraphs as not to be translated, meaning they will be excluded from the import

Sorry for not having better news.

    Cheers,

    David
