    Hi Robert,

if you want to have SEO optimized content, you should have a look at Scroll Viewport: https://www.k15t.com/display/VPRT/Use+Page+Properties+in+Templates+for+SEO

Scroll HTML Exporter does not have any SEO capatibilities and there are no plans to add this.

    Best,
    Nils

Does Scroll Viewport support the web help template? We might want to make the online help available on the web and Googleable, in which case SEO will be essential.

    Hi Robert,

per default, the Scroll Web Help Theme comes with both the Scroll HTML Exporter and Scroll Viewport in the same style.
Have you made extensive changes to the Web Help Theme in Scroll HTML Exporter?

In general, for online documentation, Scroll Viewport would be the better choice, as you can directly change the content on the fly if needed, without the need of creating a new export.

Whereas for offline help, e.g. integrated in your product (without web access), Scroll HTML Exporter would be the product to choose (though you'd then not need SEO optimization).

    Best,
    Nils

We wouldn't be using Confluence to host the help for customers. We need output to be hosted by our web site. The WebHelp format would be fine if we could add SEO.

    Hi Robert,

we've created another template recipe for Scroll HTML Exporter. Please have a look at the following page for further details: https://www.k15t.com/display/HTML/Use+Page+Properties+in+Templates+for+SEO

    Hi Nils,

would SEO defined with Scroll Versions applied to the HTML output?

    Cheers,

    Hi Kirstin,

the defined SEO setttings are not taken over into the exported HTML created with Scroll HTML Exporter.

I've created an improvement for that in our JIRA System: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/EXP-1235

We're currently focusing on other improvements and fixes, so I can't give you an ETA when we'd start working on that feature. Please sign up at https://k15t.jira.com/secure/Signup!default.jspa to watch, comment on or vote for this issue. We'll then send a notification for every status update.

If you want to present your Confluence content to the web, we'd rather suggest using Scroll Viewport instead of uploading static HTML to a server and make this content available.

    Cheers,
    Nils
