    Hi Benjamin,

    thanks for contacting us.

We are currently finalizing the "Scroll CHM Exporter", which allows to export content from Confluence pages to a compiled HTML help (CHM).

The Scroll CHM Exporter helps you to produce a compiled HTML help (CHM) for Windows applications. Therefore Scroll CHM Exporter converts the content from Confluence into a CHM file. Similar to Confluence content, the documentation in CHM files is organized into collection of HTML pages, an index and other navigation tools like a full-text search.

The release is planned for the next two weeks.

Furthermore we do already have a beta version of our Scroll HTML Exporter including a template with a search field. If you'll contact me via support@k15t.com, I'll be happy to send you this beta version so you can check if it fits your needs.

I hope that information helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Cheers,Nils

    Hi Nils,

is kind of Scroll-Day for me (^_^).

Thanks for your quick answer. Do you have any idea about the pricing of this plugin?
I will test the first official release and then we have to decide if we buy it or not.

    thanks

    Hi Benjamin,

the price will be the same as the Scroll HTML Exporter (see https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.k15t.scroll.scroll-html), however the price of the 10 User license will be changed.

Please feel free to contact our sales team (sales[at]k15t.com) if you are interested in a quote. They'll be happy to help.

    Cheers,
    Nils

    Hi Nils
We would also be intertested in this.  What is the current state of play?
(We have just purchased the Scrolls PDF Exporter btw.  Can something similar be done with it?)

    Hi Peter,

the current version is still in beta status, but we recently started to have another look at it and hope to release the GA version as soon as possible - however I can't give you an ETA on this currently.

Please watch the Scroll HTML Exporter in the Atlassian Marketplace (see https://www.k15t.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=82510672) to get a notification once the new version is released.

Yes thanks I am evaluating the HTML Export right now.     What we need :

    • For each of our products we have a root page on Confuence.
Each of these root pages has hyperlinks to other pages, which themselves have hyperlinks to other pages ...  etc etc.   There are about 500 pages in total, and each product needs a somewhat different combination of them.
I need to be able to do a separate html export each product - ie the root page in question, and all the child pages that are linked to from it ....  down the whole logical tree.
    • The html should include a search, wihere the hits are links to the exported html pages  (ie not back to Confluence).

Can the Scroll HTML Export give us all this?

    Hi Peter,

    thanks for the details.
By saying "... and all pages that are linked to from it..." are those pages stored as child pages of your selected root pages (so that you could use the export functionality "this page and its children")?

If not, have you already had a look at the variant management functionality of Scroll Versions (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.k15t.scroll.scroll-versions)? Using this feature you could pages for a specific variant and can then define to only export a specific variant.

    Would that help?

Well they are child pages in the sense that they are hyperlinked to.  But they are not located below them in the hierarchy.    (This is because some pages are common to more than one product).
Yes I also have Versions on evaluation.   Will look later at variants - so hopefully a page can be in more than one variant?   (Similar to using labels?)
And how about an html search then?

    Hi Peter,

yes, pages can be available in multiple variant and the search results should all point to the corresponding pages in the exported file if they are linked correctly.

I'd suggest you'll contact us via support@k15t.com once you've had a look at Scroll Versions and have any open questions or want to discuss your use case a bit more in detail.

Nils are there any CLEAR instructions anywhere on how to have a search index in the HTML output?
