    Dear Ian,

    Thanks for your question.

Unfortunately, at the moment it is not possible to include an excerpt of the page text in the search results. This is because the search index does not contain original page content/excerpts. I have created an improvement for this in our Jira system and you can track the issue here: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/EXP-2283

Without this feature, HTML Exporter would be required to dynamically load the files for the search results while viewing the search results page, in order to extract some excerpts. This would likely result in poorer performance and additionally, most browsers don't allow this if the HTML files are opened from the local disk (only if they are hosted on a web server). This would mean that excerpts would not be possible when using the exported documentation in "offline" mode.

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a time-frame in regards to when this feature would be implemented. However, please sign up to our Jira (via https://k15t.jira.com/secure/Signup!default.jspa) so that you can watch, comment and/or vote on this issue. We'll then send a notification for every status update.

    I hope this information helps.

    Thanks, Thomas (K15t Software)
