Space key restrictions in macros with multiple versions

We are setting up templates for How To pages. Each page has two macros (Search and Content by Label) that we would like to restrict by space. 

We plan to use the Private Master space approach to publishing our versions through a Viewport. The idea is that if a user is in the version 7.3.2 space, his search will show results only in that space. 

My question/problem is this - when I publish a version to a new space, those macros would still have the label for the old space, is that correct? So I'm working in my private master space and then publish a version to a space just for that version, but the space labels in the macros in the new space would still be the labels for the private master space, I think. They wouldn't update automatically to the new space the version is published to? Is there a way to make that happen automatically?

  Hi Jennifer. Thanks for reaching out.

  It won't work for the livesearch macro. It will still point to the original space. But the content by label macro will work if "current space" was selected in the space option.
