Image size in PDF larger than in Confluence
Hi,
in PDF Exporter "Export" settings we cleared the setting "Export images with original resolution".
So we expect images in the PDF having the same size as in Confluence. De facto images in PDF are 15 % larger than in Confluence, e.g. an image with an original width of 822px is explicitly scaled down in Confluence to 492px but ends in PDF with 565px (= 492 * 1.15).
Are there any options to have images in PDF in the very same size as in Confluence?
Best regards,
Matthias

Hi Matthias,
Thanks for your question.
This option renders images with their original resolution, not necessarily size: https://help.k15t.com/scroll-pdf-exporter/what-can-i-do-if-my-images-get-exported-in-poor-quality-80970241.html.
Is the image in Confluence has a set size when you are in the edit screen?
Cheers,
Roman. -
Hi Roman,
yes, in the Confluence editor the size is explicitly set to 492px. But in the PDF at 100% zoom the size is 565px. This is larger than viewing the image in Firefox or Chrome at standard zoom (Ctrl + 0). To be clear, I am not concerning image quality but image size.

Hi Matthias,
How did you calculate the pixel size when viewing PDF? Which application did you use?
I can see that the image is exported with correct size when viewing the HTML source of the PDF:<div class="scroll-figure"> <img class="image block-image confluence-embedded-image" src="images/download/attachments/10420248/20170410110351.jpg" alt="images/download/attachments/10420248/20170410110351.jpg" width="492" />
</div>Cheers,

Hi Roman,
to determine the pixel size in PDF in Adobe Acrobat I set zoom to 100%, take a screenshot, and determine the size of the screenshot with IrfanView. Beside this computed determination I see with my own eyes that the image in Adobe Acrobat at 100% zoom is larger than the very same image in Confluence (in Firefox scaled with Ctrl+0 to 100% zoom).
Can it be that the export to HTML is fine, but the conversion from HTML to PDF enlarge the image by 15%?
Regards,

I'm having the same issue with controlling image size in the PDF export. There seems to no option to control image size in Scroll PDF Exporter in Confluence Cloud, even if you change the size of the image on your Confluence page. I can't figure out any method to its output settings.

Hi Patrick Leal - within the template settings in our app we don't have any options related to offering a default control for how all images are exported. This is something we have an open feature request for here - https://k15t.jira.com/browse/EXP-2442. For images on cloud, we will preserve the height/width which is set in the page storage format when using the resizing tool for the image on the page. These image dimension values are not displayed in the editor view (like in Confluence Server/DC) but can be seen when viewing the storage format from the Advanced Details options in the page tools •••
Kind regards, Thomas (K15t)
