Scroll HTML and page layout or section/column macro not rendered properly
Hi,
I am struggling to export a correct page layout for my documentation. I have tried using the standard page layout, but the export totally ignored it.
I am now testing a mix of section/column macros ( defining column in % or in px) , but the results are not better.
Can you please help me there? Is there anything which needs to be defined in the export template itself on top of a particular formatting of the page in Confluence?

Thanks for reaching out. Confluence Page Layouts are currently not supported by our Scroll Exporters. We're already tracked this in our JIRA system: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/EXP-421

As a workaround you can work with section-column macros however. After you've defined that they'll be exported as table (see screenshot), your pages should be exported as expected with the set section and columns.

Hi Niels, With this change, my html export looks great.. but in my pdf export ( using the standard confluence pdf export) the page gets cut off on the right side ( while it was ok when I was using the page layout Confluence feature) .. I do not fully understand why since I thought that during the pdf export first an HTML was generated..
in my pdf stylesheet the only mention I have around the table layout is:
table
{
table-layout:auto ;
width: auto ;
max-width: 100%
}
..any idea? ( sorry if ot goes beyond a traditional ticket..)

Hi Sophie,
I assume the table generated with the section column macro is pretty wide now? The thing with page layouts is, that they're not exported in the layout, but simply exported one after the other, which is why you didn't ran into any problems.
Unfortunately our current PDF library has problems rendering wide tables correctly. We have a page in our docs with some tweaks how to improve the table handling of wide tables. Please have a look at the following page: https://www.k15t.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=75367879
We're already in the move to a new library with improved table handling, however until we'll finally be able to make the switch we'll still need some more time.
I hope the workarounds mentioned in the page are helpful here.

Hi Nils,
has the export sections as table feature changed? We are using Confluence 6.14.3 and Scroll HTML Exporter 3.9.7.
I created page with two equal sections next to each other.
Exporting the page to HTML with the option "Output section macros as table" does not work. In the exported HTML file the sections are displayed underneath each other. Checking the source code of the page reveals that no divs nor a table was created, just plain p tags.
Any idea why?

Yes, like you discovered, the export option within Scroll HTML Exporter for "Output section macros as table" pertains to pages which are using the native Confluence Section & Column macros. If your page is using a multi-column page layout (available from the edit mode toolbar), this is not currently supported with our version 3.x Scroll Exporter apps. We have an open feature request for this here: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/EXP-421.
On a side note, I can see that you're using an older version of our app still and just wanted to mention that we have just released Scroll HTML Exporter v3.9.9. This update now includes support for expanding and collapsing content which is nested in the Expand macro within the generated export.
